Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is Kamakura's most iconic shrine. As soon as you enter the grounds, you can feel the solemn and peaceful atmosphere. Strolling along the approach, you'll see lush greenery on both sides, and after climbing the stone steps, you can look out over the entire shrine, which feels especially relaxing. I particularly liked the strong sense of history and culture here. After visiting the shrine, you can browse the shops and enjoy some food on nearby Komachi Street. It's a relaxing and fulfilling stop that shouldn't be missed on a day trip to Kamakura.
