Cherry blossom viewing at Shinobazu Pond in Ueno, Tokyo. As we walked along the pond, the cherry trees on both sides were in full bloom, one after another, with their soft pink blossoms reflected on the water. The whole scene was really beautiful!

During peak cherry blossom season, lots of people gather around the pond to enjoy the flowers. Everyone walks around and takes photos, creating a very lively atmosphere. Look up and you see cherry blossoms everywhere; look down and you see the pond and the surrounding scenery. No matter how you take your photos, they all feel like spring.

At Sumiyoshi Taisha in Osaka, the first thing you see at the entrance is the distinctive Taiko Bridge. Its dramatic curve is quite impressive and is one of the shrine's most iconic sights. After crossing the bridge and entering the shrine grounds, the atmosphere becomes much quieter, creating a striking contrast with the lively streets outside.

As you continue walking, you'll see one old shrine building after another. The vermilion structures surrounded by greenery create a distinctly Japanese shrine atmosphere. The grounds are very spacious, and it feels especially pleasant to take your time walking around and praying.

NEZAMEYA—I ordered inari sushi and eel rice this time. It was a simple meal, but very satisfying! The tofu pockets around the inari sushi had a sweet flavor and were filled with fragrant vinegared rice. They were easy to eat in one bite, with just the right balance of sweet and savory.

The eel rice was another highlight of the meal. The grilled eel was fragrant, with a slightly charred aroma on the surface. The fish was tender, and it tasted better and better with the piping-hot white rice underneath!

At Takahashi Dairy Farm, of course you can’t miss the farm’s popular treats! This time, I got a milk ice cream cone. It was full of rich milky flavor from the first bite, but it wasn’t too heavy and went down very smoothly.

The ice cream had a dense, smooth texture, and the rich milk flavor slowly spread through my mouth. You could taste the natural creaminess in every bite. Eating it at the farm, surrounded by pastoral scenery, made it feel even more like a relaxing vacation.

Jozankei Gensen Park is near the Jozankei Onsen district and is a nice little spot for a walk and a rest. Its most distinctive feature is the free footbath. When your feet get tired, you can sit down and soak them in the warm hot spring water. It feels so warm and comfortable, especially in cold weather!

When visiting Hokkaido, Shikotsu-Toya National Park lets you experience the magnificent yet peaceful side of nature. Along the way, you can see vast lakes, dense forests, and mountains in the distance. The clear lake water reflects the blue sky, creating a truly captivating view.

Strolling along the lakeshore, enjoying the scenery and the gentle breeze, you can't help but relax. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can better appreciate the purity and beauty of Hokkaido's natural scenery.

In Hakodate, I made a special visit to the Hakodate Seikan Liaison Ship Memorial Museum Mashu-maru. The entire ship is docked at Hakodate Port, and even from the outside, it has a strong sense of history. After boarding, you can actually walk through the ship and see the equipment and spaces once used by the Seikan ferry, as if you had stepped into a time machine and gone back to the past.

ecute Ueno, located inside Ueno Station, is a great place to browse before or after catching a train. There are plenty of sweets, souvenirs, restaurants, and household goods, with a wide variety of shops. Just walking around, you'll find quite a few things you'll want to buy.

This time, I stopped in for a look while passing through Ueno Station. The wide selection of Japanese sweets and souvenirs kept catching my eye. It's conveniently located, and since all the shops are together inside the station, even if you're in a hurry, you can quickly shop before catching your train.

What I love most about Tsukiji Outer Market is its lively atmosphere filled with the aroma of seafood! The market has lots of fresh fish and seafood, and as you walk around, you can see all kinds of ingredients. Everything looks so fresh.

Besides being able to buy fresh seafood, quite a few shops also serve freshly grilled seafood. It’s really hard to resist buying some when you smell it as you walk through the market!

Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple in Tokyo caught my eye at first sight. Its exterior is very different from what you usually imagine a Japanese temple to look like, with a strong exotic style. The enormous main hall looks very impressive, and it makes a striking backdrop for photos.

Once inside the temple, the space is also quite spacious, and the decorative details are worth taking your time to appreciate. Afterward, you can stop by the nearby Tsukiji Outer Market for some food. Visiting both together works out perfectly.
