Nicknamed the "Floating Castle" for its appearance of floating on water, Toyama Castle Ruins Park is built on the historic site of Toyama Castle, once the residence of feudal lords who ruled the present-day Toyama region. The park retains portions of the original stone walls, moat, and the impressive Chitose Gate, preserving the grandeur of the past.

Toyama Castle Ruins Park is a distinctive historical attraction in central Toyama. The park is lush and green, and Toyama Castle in the center looks beautiful against the surrounding scenery. Walking through the park, you can feel its rich historical atmosphere while enjoying the natural beauty of each season. What I liked most during this visit was the view of the castle and gardens complementing each other, which gives photos the feel of an old Japanese castle.

Omokagebashi Bridge

Omokagebashi is a bridge spanning the Kanda River, a first-class river in Tokyo, connecting Toshima Ward and Shinjuku Ward. It is also the name of a tram stop on the Toden Arakawa Line, affectionately known as "Tokyo Sakura Tram." In spring, it's a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing, attracting numerous visitors.

Viewing the cherry blossoms at Omokagebashi Bridge is a very pleasant springtime walk in Tokyo. As you stroll along the Kanda River, the cherry blossoms blooming on both sides are reflected on the water, creating an especially romantic scene. When a gentle breeze blows, cherry blossom petals drift through the air, filling the entire riverbank with the feeling of spring. Compared with popular cherry blossom spots, it's more relaxed and peaceful here. You can walk, take photos, and slowly enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms.

Naha Airport sits on Okinawa’s main island, serving as Japan’s southern gateway to the world. Flights here service a regular roster of domestic flights to major cities including Tokyo (Haneda), Osaka (Kansai), Nagoya (Chubu), and Fukuoka, while international routes link Okinawa directly with several Asian destinations. In addition to frequent flight options to Okinawa’s outlying islands, including Ishigaki, Miyako, and Kume, the airport sees over 20 million passengers each year.

This time at Naha Airport, I felt the excitement of traveling in Okinawa from the moment I got off the plane. The airport has lots of unique souvenirs and local food, and it's easy to browse around. Before leaving, I couldn't resist buying a few more things to take home.

Shimotori Shopping Arcade

Located in the heart of Kumamoto City and stretching from Toricho-suji in a north-south direction, Shimotori Shopping Arcade is bustling with local customers and tourists both day and night. Easily accessible by tram and bus, and in close proximity to JR Kumamoto Station, the arcade is also within walking distance to Kumamoto Castle, one of Japan's three most famous castles and a symbol of Kumamoto.

Shimotori Shopping Arcade is Kumamoto's liveliest shopping district. The street is spacious and vibrant, and it's easy to shop here whether it's sunny or raining. It's filled with clothing, cosmetics, drugstores, souvenir shops, and all kinds of restaurants, so there's plenty to choose from. I sampled some of Kumamoto's local snacks while shopping and soaked up the lively atmosphere. Before I knew it, time had flown by.

Starbucks Coffee Dazaifu Tenmangu Omotesando Store opened in 2011, right next to the torii gate facing the Omotesando Avenue of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. This is one of the "Regional Landmark Stores," originally designed by Starbucks in iconic locations throughout Japan to promote the attractive local culture to the rest of the world.

Starbucks Coffee Dazaifu Tenmangu Omotesando Store is one of Japan's most distinctive Starbucks locations. Designed by architect Kengo Kuma, its striking exterior of interwoven wooden beams combines a modern feel with Japanese aesthetics.
After visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu, sitting down for a cup of coffee and a short break slowed the pace of the trip and felt especially relaxing.

A simple snack seasoned with a salt-based seasoning on thinly sliced and fried Japanese potatoes. It can be purchased at supermarkets and drug stores across Japan.

Koikeya Potato Chips Potato and Salt is one of my favorite classic snacks. As soon as you open the bag, you can smell the rich potato aroma. The chips are thin, crispy, and crunchy, with just the right amount of salt. They're not too salty, which brings out the potatoes' natural sweetness even more. They're simple but hard to get tired of, and perfect for watching shows or chatting. Once you start, you can't stop!

A tourist farm at the foot of the Kirishima mountain range. Overlooking majestic Mount Takachiho, its expansive 42-hectare grounds offer animal encounters, dairy farming activities, and farm-fresh food. Opened in 1991 as an interactive tourist farm, it has become one of southern Kyushu's most popular tourist attractions.

Takachiho Farm is a very popular recreational spot in Kyushu. The vast grasslands and beautiful views of the Kirishima mountain range make you feel refreshed as soon as you arrive. You can get up close to cute animals such as dairy cows and sheep, feed them, and enjoy fresh milk, soft-serve ice cream, and dairy products.

Aso Shrine (Kumamoto)

The master god who has created Aso, Takei Watatsu no Mikoto, and 12 of his family gods are enshrined here. As the head of Higo Province, this is ranked top over nearly 500 branch Aso Shrines nationwide. Its history goes back more than 2000 years. Its faith is fused with volcano worship that believes Mt. Aso to be a god.

With over 2,000 years of history, Aso Shrine is one of Kyushu's most iconic shrines. As soon as you enter the grounds, you can feel the solemn and peaceful atmosphere. The reconstructed Romon Gate is magnificent and showcases the shrine's historic character. I prayed for a safe journey and admired the intricate wooden architecture and surrounding natural scenery, which made me feel especially relaxed.

Sengan-en

Sengan-en is a Japanese garden made for the Shimadzu family estate by Mitsuhisa Shimadzu in 1658. The grounds boast a sprawling 50,000 square meters in total. The garden itself uses the “borrowed scenery” technique, incorporating Kagoshima’s coveted spots like the volcano Sakurajima and Kinko Bay as a natural backdrop.

Sengan-en is one of Kagoshima's most iconic gardens, with Sakurajima behind it and Kinko Bay in front, creating magnificent scenery. The grounds preserve many historic buildings and Japanese garden landscapes, with different flowers to enjoy in every season. Strolling through the garden feels especially relaxing. You can also enjoy beautiful views of the Sakurajima volcano!

Kokyo Gaien National Garden

This park is located in the area outside the Main Gate to Japan’s Imperial Palace. At the center is the Garden Plaza, where green lawns are dotted with about 2,000 black Kuromatsu pine trees.

Kokyo Gaien National Garden is a rare large green space in central Tokyo. Its expansive lawns, neatly arranged pine trees, and views of the moat complement one another, creating an especially relaxing atmosphere. While strolling through the grounds, you can admire the famous Nijubashi Bridge and experience the dignified yet peaceful atmosphere surrounding the Imperial Palace.
