What I love is the laid-back, unspoiled island atmosphere here. After arriving by ferry, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you're greeted by the deep blue sea and vast natural scenery, and you quickly start to relax.

What attracted me most on the island was the impressive Gusukuyama, also known as Iejima Tacchu. It looks very distinctive even from a distance, and with the blue sky and greenery around it, it looks great in every photo. Taking your time to enjoy the island scenery along the way also lets you experience the unique tranquility of rural Okinawa.

Kanmon Bridge spans the Kanmon Straits between Honshu and Kyushu, connecting Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi Prefecture with Kitakyushu in Fukuoka Prefecture. The first time I saw it, the long bridge stretching across the water, together with the surrounding ocean views, looked truly impressive.

This time, I came to enjoy the scenery near Kanmon Bridge in person. You can see ships traveling back and forth through the strait, with the sea breeze blowing toward you, and the whole view feels very open. Standing on the shore and looking at the bridge and sea blending together really gives you that expansive feeling of being on a journey.

At Nago Pineapple Park, you can ride a cute pineapple-shaped cart through the park, enjoying the pineapple fields and the gentle breeze along the way. The whole experience is a lot of fun. You can also learn how pineapples grow, making it both entertaining and informative.

Of course, what I looked forward to most was trying the fresh pineapple and pineapple desserts. Their sweet-and-tart flavor was very refreshing! This visit wasn't just about enjoying the scenery—you can also eat delicious food, take photos, and experience Okinawa's tropical fruit culture. It's a great place for families with children.

This time I visited Shibuya Center Street, and my first impression was, “There are so many people!” Both sides of the street are lined with all kinds of shops, restaurants, and bright signs. The whole area has a youthful, lively atmosphere, and every corner feels distinctly Tokyo.

Of course, you can’t visit Shibuya without seeing Hachiko! Seeing the Hachiko statue in person for the first time and thinking about the story of him waiting for his owner to return was especially moving, and I couldn’t resist taking a photo. This small bronze statue has become one of Shibuya’s most iconic landmarks.

KARUIZAWA PRINCE SHOPPING PLAZA is a great place to shop, enjoy good food, and take in the natural scenery. The mall is very large and has many brand-name stores offering everything from clothing and sporting goods to household items. People who love shopping really won’t want to leave.

After visiting in person, what I liked most was that it wasn’t as crowded as typical urban outlets. It’s surrounded by large green spaces and mountain views, and there are places to rest when you get tired of shopping. The overall atmosphere is very relaxed. Shopping while enjoying Karuizawa’s natural scenery along the way felt especially pleasant.

At Kokura Castle, I slowly explored the grounds and learned about its history through the exhibits. After climbing to the top, I could look out over Kitakyushu and admire the city from different angles, which felt very special.

I really liked how Kokura Castle blends history with the modern city. After visiting the castle, you can also stroll around the nearby shopping district and enjoy some good food.

Marine World Uminonakamichi is a very popular aquarium in Fukuoka. It features many marine creatures, from schools of colorful fish to large marine animals, and stepping inside feels like the start of an underwater adventure.

What I was most looking forward to on this visit was seeing the impressive dolphin and sea lion shows. Watching them move so gracefully through the water was really soothing. The enormous aquarium tank was also memorable. Standing in front of the glass and watching the fish swim leisurely by made me feel as if I were underwater too.

The entire visit felt very fulfilling. Besides seeing cute marine animals, I also learned more about marine ecosystems. It's especially suited for exploring slowly and taking everything in. After experiencing it for myself, I think it's an attraction that both adults and children will enjoy, and it added a lot of fun to my trip to Fukuoka.

Akama Shrine is located in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and is filled with history. Its most striking feature is the bright red Suitenmon gate. With the ocean scenery around it, the gate stands out even from a distance and looks very different from those at typical shrines.

During my visit, I felt the solemn and peaceful atmosphere as I entered the shrine and also learned about its history connected to Emperor Antoku. From near the shrine, you can also enjoy views of the Kanmon Strait. Feeling the sea breeze and watching the ships pass by was very relaxing.

The ningyo-yaki at Kimuraya Honten are small and cute, with golden, crisp, fragrant exteriors and sweet fillings that look very appetizing. They're small enough to hold in one hand, making them perfect for eating while strolling around, and they have the distinctive charm of a traditional Japanese sweet.
