Kanmon Straits

Located at the westernmost end of Honshu, separating Yamaguchi Prefecture's Shimonoseki City and Fukuoka Prefecture's Kitakyushu City, it's said to have formed about 6,000 years ago. The name "Kanmon Straits" is derived from the initials of Shimonoseki, historically known as Makan, and Moji, a district in Kitakyushu City.

The Kanmon Straits are an important waterway connecting Honshu and Kyushu. From near the straits, you can see the cities on both shores and ships passing by, with wide-open views. Being here in person, feeling the sea breeze and admiring the deep blue water was especially pleasant. Watching the ships slowly pass through the straits also gave me a sense of the area's importance in transportation and history. What was most special was being able to take in the scenery of both Yamaguchi and Fukuoka prefectures at the same time, which felt very refreshing.

Takenoko no Sato

Takenoko no Sato is one of the signature products of Meiji Co., Ltd. (hereafter, Meiji). Following the huge success of its sister product Kinoko no Yama, it was developed as the second product in the series with a completely different concept. Since its launch in 1979, it has remained a long-selling favorite with a history of more than 45 years.

Meiji Takenoko no Sato strawberry-flavored cookies are a cute snack with a distinctly Japanese feel. The crispy cookies are paired with sweet strawberry chocolate, giving them a rich strawberry aroma and sweetness that make them perfect for afternoon tea or as a snack while watching shows. Overall, they're crispy with a noticeable strawberry flavor and are super delicious 😋

Jagarico

This popular potato snack has a crispy texture.The stick-shaped snack is packaged in a cup, making it easy to carry around.They come in salad, cheese, buttered potato, and tarako butter flavors. Their most popular flavor, salad, includes carrot and parsley.Limited-time and special regional flavors are also available.

My first time trying Calbee Jagarico potato sticks, and the texture was really unique! The short sticks are crispy but also have a bit of firmness, and they get more flavorful the more you chew. The salty taste makes them hard to stop eating. The compact cup is also very convenient, perfect for snacking while watching shows or traveling. Once I started popping them into my mouth one by one, I couldn't stop!

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

This is a sunscreen essence for face and body. Impressively light even when reapplied or layered! It prevents uneven application even at the microscopic level.

After using Kao Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence, I found the texture very moisturizing and easy to spread. It doesn't feel heavy or sticky on my face, and it absorbs quickly. It moisturizes while protecting against the sun, leaving my skin feeling soft and comfortable. It doesn't feel stuffy even in summer. Overall, it's refreshing and convenient to use, perfect for everyday outings, and I'd like to keep using it!

Tokyo Disneyland

Known and loved as the “kingdom of dreams and magic”, this full-scale themepark is just a 15 min. train ride from Tokyo Station.

The moment I stepped into Tokyo Disneyland, I instantly turned back into a carefree child! From the dreamy Cinderella Castle to the balloons floating everywhere, the air was filled with the happy, buttery aroma of Mickey waffles, making me want to dance along with the music!

The “Beauty and the Beast” ride we frantically tried to get into was truly stunning! When the huge ballroom lit up and the teacups spun gracefully to the classic melody, the scene of Belle and the Beast dancing together brought tears to my eyes. It was like stepping right into an animated storybook.

The nighttime parade was definitely the perfect grand finale! Colorful floats rolled by amid twinkling lights, and when Mickey waved enthusiastically from his float, everyone screamed and cheered. This trip was filled with magic—definitely a place worth visiting again and again to recharge!

Mt. Otowa Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Opened in the year 778, the temple was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1994. In the 130, 000 m2 area of the precincts spread out on the hillside of Mt. Otowa, there are more than 30 cathedrals and monuments, including national treasures and important cultural properties.

Upon entering Kiyomizu-dera Temple, what moved me most was the Kiyomizu Stage, which is suspended above the ground using mortise-and-tenon joinery without a single nail. Looking out from the edge of the wooden platform, I saw lush green mountains interwoven with the ancient cityscape of Kyoto. I could deeply feel both the solid weight of the historic architecture and the boundless wisdom of traditional craftsmanship.

Following the mountain path at a leisurely pace, I arrived at the famous Otowa Waterfall, where three streams of spring water slowly flow down from the cliff, representing health, academic success, and good relationships. Scooping up the spring water with a long-handled ladle, every sip carried a prayer and hope for the future. Amid the clear sound of the flowing spring, my whole spirit seemed to be cleansed and returned to tranquility and peace.

This visit was not only a visual tour of historic landmarks, but also a deeply calming journey for the soul.

The entrance to LEGOLAND Japan in Nagoya feels like stepping into a colorful LEGO box magnified millions of times! Scenes built with more than 17 million LEGO bricks are everywhere, while the scent of caramel popcorn and the sound of children screaming fill the air. Whether you're admiring enormous brick dinosaurs up close or wandering through colorful brick streets, your inner child and sense of adventure are instantly awakened. The whole park is filled with an irresistible childlike excitement.

The attractions here aren't just static displays—they're full of surprises and action! On Submarine Adventure, you can watch real sharks swim alongside a LEGO shipwreck through glass portholes. In Miniland, famous landmarks from across Japan are vividly recreated in LEGO form at a 1:1 scale, and even the little trains and vehicles move on their own. The most thrilling ride has to be The Dragon. Racing and twisting above the castle with the wind rushing past is just exciting enough, and even adults can have a great time.

When you're tired from playing, don't miss the park-exclusive LEGO fries! These golden, crispy, brick-shaped fries are soft and tasty inside and so eye-catching that they're perfect for photos.

Asahi Super Dry

This long-selling product has been a hit since its launch in 1987 as Japan’s first dry beer. Its refreshing taste and pleasantly light mouthfeel pair well with all types of food.

My first time trying Asahi. Ice-cold, it was refreshing and smooth, with a light, pleasant bitterness. It went especially well with fried food and yakiniku. Having a drink with friends while traveling, chatting and enjoying good food, really gave me the feeling of traveling in Japan!

Fuji-Q Highland

Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park featuring many world-class thrill rides and character theme parks.

Fuji-Q Highland is definitely a paradise for thrill ride lovers! The three signature must-rides: the view of Mount Fuji from high up on the FUJIYAMA roller coaster is stunning; DODODONPA's acceleration is so intense it feels like your heart stops; and Takabisha's crazy 121-degree drop is incredibly satisfying.

This time at Fuji-Q Highland, I really thought it was super thrilling and fun! As soon as I saw the roller coasters, I couldn't help feeling both excited and scared. Especially at the moment when they climbed high and then plunged down at high speed, I couldn't stop screaming, and it felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. My legs were a little weak afterward, but it was incredibly satisfying. There are also lots of fun rides throughout the park, and every one left a strong impression. This trip to Fuji-Q wasn't just fun—it also tested my courage and became a truly unforgettable memory from my travels in Japan!

Odaiba Marine Park

Odaiba Seaside Park is home to an approximately 800m artificial beach "Odaiba Beach" and a rocky shore "Isohama Zone" where you can fish. In addition to enjoying fishing and water sports, there are cafes and restaurants where you can relax. It's a popular spot that both adults and children can enjoy.

Strolling through Odaiba Seaside Park, the most refreshing part is the expansive view of the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Bay. During the day, watching the waves lap against the shore and the Rainbow Bridge standing in the sunlight is especially relaxing with the gentle breeze. By evening, the sunset paints the sky pink and purple, followed by dazzling night views and Tokyo Tower sparkling in the distance, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere. I took so many photos along the way that my phone's photo album filled up in no time!
Walking along the wooden boardwalk makes you instantly forget the noise of the city. It's an incredibly soothing stop on a trip to Tokyo!
