A lively, vibrant shopping street stretching from Kamakura Station, lined with all kinds of food, sweets, souvenirs, and unique little shops. It's best to set aside some time to explore so you can discover interesting stores. It's popular not only with tourists but also with locals. Even if you return after some time, you'll find that familiar shops have been replaced by new ones, bringing fresh surprises with every visit.

Mujin-to Sarushima Island
Sarushima Island, on the coast of Yokosuka Port is Tokyo Bay’s biggest, only deserted nature island, with an area of 1.6km. Since it is located at the entrance of Tokyo Bay, it became a defense point to protect the capital of Japan. Nowadays, it is a popular leisure spot, only a 10 minute boat ride from Yokosuka.
I originally came to see the Mikasa Memorial Ship, but on the way I unexpectedly found the ferry terminal for Sarushima. Sarushima is the only natural island in Tokyo Bay and was once a military fortress. The island still has historic brick tunnels and artillery battery ruins. The old stone walls covered in greenery, combined with the mysterious and tranquil atmosphere, look like a movie set. Next time, I’d like to take the ferry to the island and experience the charm of this lesser-known secluded spot for myself!

Seibu Shinjuku PePe
Seibu Shinjuku PePe is a popular shopping center that offers convenience, especially on hot summer days or during heavy rain. It is directly connected to Seibu Shinjuku Station, making it easy to access from other stations like JR, private railways, and subways, all within a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. The same building also houses the Shinjuku Prince Hotel, making it convenient for hotel guests to shop and dine.
Shinjuku PePe is directly connected to Seibu-Shinjuku Station, and it’s easy to find by following the signs inside the station. After shopping, I recommend heading across the street to Shinpachi Shokudo for a Japanese set meal! They offer a variety of grilled fish main dishes, with generous portions and affordable prices, making it a great value. No wonder it’s always packed—it’s a great choice for delicious Japanese home-style cooking〜

Inuyama Castle
The Inuyama Castle keep is one of five deemed national treasures in Japan. It’s especially famous for remaining today as the oldest watchtower-style keep in Japan. It’s said it was built in 1537 by Oda Nobuyasu, the father of Oda Nobunaga.
Inuyama Castle is one of Japan’s oldest surviving castle keeps. Its rustic wooden architecture evokes the atmosphere of the Sengoku period. From the top of the keep, you can look out over the Kiso River and the surrounding castle town, with expansive views on clear days. Walking through the castle, you can experience the charm of a traditional Japanese castle from centuries past.
