HEP FIVE in Osaka’s Umeda district is a trendy shopping center popular with young people, offering a wide variety of fashion brands, general merchandise, and food. The mall’s most iconic landmark is the eye-catching, giant bright red Ferris wheel on the roof. From the ride, you can look out over downtown Osaka and the bustling streets of Umeda, and its romantic atmosphere has also made it a popular date spot.

Kinkaku-ji
During the Muromachi Period, the 3rd Ashikaga shogun, Yoshimitsu, made an abode in this temple called Kitayamadono. It was named as Rokuon-ji after the posthumous name of Yoshimitsu. He had also built Shokoku-ji Temple, and Rokuon-ji, his retirement home, was turned into a branch temple of Shokoku-ji.
When I was little, I watched the Ikkyu-san cartoon and was especially impressed by the shogun's residence. It wasn't until I visited Kyoto as an adult that I realized it was the famous Kinkaku-ji! Its official name is Rokuon-ji, and the Golden Pavilion is actually the temple's reliquary hall. A phoenix symbolizing good fortune stands atop the roof, and the entire building, covered in glittering gold leaf, looks especially dazzling reflected on the surface of the pond. If you're lucky enough to visit on a snowy day in winter, you'll see another picturesque scene.

New Sante De U Alfa
New Sante De U Alfa is a brand of eyedrops with a balanced formula that includes vitamin B12, which helps function of the ciliary muscles that focuses your eyes, and chondroitin, which helps to protect the cornea, the surface of the eye.
Santen Pharmaceutical is a century-old Japanese company specializing in eye care. This eye drop product has a pink liquid rich in vitamin B12 and taurine, which effectively relieves eye fatigue and conjunctival redness, and it has a light rose scent. For daily care, I use it together with another artificial tear product to help relieve dry eyes.

Pork Tamago Onigiri – Makishi Market Branch
If you’re visiting Okinawa, don’t miss the chance to try Pō-tama-a beloved local specialty served up at this dedicated shop.
A super popular Okinawa shop specializing in freshly made rice balls~ Its signature item features traditional Okinawan canned luncheon meat (Spam) and a freshly fried thick omelet, sandwiched with fragrant, chewy Niigata-grown Koshihikari rice and specially selected nori. Each one is made fresh after you order, so it’s piping hot when you get it. The outside is crispy, the inside is tender, and the savory, salty flavor really hits the spot. It’s an iconic Okinawan street food that you have to try.
