When arriving at JR Kyoto Station on the HARUKA, just head out through the Central Exit, and you can easily find this very useful comprehensive Kyoto tourist information center on the second floor of the station. This time, I came here specifically for help because I wanted more detailed information about transportation and attractions in the Kyoto by the Sea area.
As soon as I walked in, I saw racks full of all kinds of useful travel brochures, including versions in Traditional Chinese, which is really thoughtful and convenient for international travelers. The staff were also very friendly and provided explanations and guidance. If you've just arrived in Kyoto and want to learn more local information for the rest of your trip, I highly recommend making this your first stop. Picking up information and doing some research here first will help make your whole trip go much more smoothly.
