I remember going to the big annual festival at this shrine on August 15 a few years ago. The atmosphere was really impressive, and I even got splashed with water! I was so caught up in the excitement that I forgot to take any photos. Recently, I had the chance to visit this historic shrine again. After reading an article on Good Luck Trip, I learned that this place has deep ties to sumo and Tadataka Ino, who drew the first map of Japan. Now I want to go back and check out the spots mentioned in the article.

Universal Studios Japan
Universal Studios Japan, nicknamed “USJ”, is a large-scale theme park with entertainment for everyone, both children and adults alike. The park is separated into different areas, each with a different theme from popular titles across the world.
Universal Studios Japan is fun for all ages! Totally worth a visit—I actually think it's way more fun than Disney. There are so many themed areas and so many attractions that you can't do them all in one day. I spent from early morning until night and still wanted more.

Harbor View Park
Harbor View Park is located on a small hill overlooking the Port of Yokohama. When the port first opened, the area was used as a foreign settlement with the British army stationed on the hill and the French army at the bottom, so the area features locations like the “French Mountain” and “British House Yokohama.”
Harbor View Park is one of my favorite parks. The whole place is beautiful, especially the English Rose Garden and the Fragrance Garden—they're just gorgeous. The park is pretty big, so it's also nice for a walk.

Yamashita Park
Yamashita Park is located by the sea, just a short walk from Yokohama Chinatown. It was opened in March of 1930, reclaiming the waterfront using rubble caused by the Great Kanto Earthquake.
The rose garden at Yamashita Park is huge, and the roses are really beautiful. There's also a big cruise ship docked by the sea. The open view facing the ocean is so refreshing! I highly recommend this place.
