Asahiyama Zoo, the northernmost zoo in Japan, is a popular zoo known for its behavioral exhibits, in which comfortable spaces are created for the animals' ecology and their natural behavior is brought out to be seen.
This is definitely one of the must-visit spots in Hokkaido! The animals here are super lively, and it's totally different from your typical zoo. The penguin walk is absolutely adorable—it just melts your heart.

These charming, egg-shaped sweets feature black sesame paste and smooth black sesame filling wrapped in fluffy castella cake, all coated in white chocolate. A restaurant specializing in hearth-baked pilaf, where you can eat different kinds of pilaf. The restaurant is a retro-modern space with traditional Japanese underlying tones. The original cheese that is used is rich in protein and mixes with the pilaf thickly like cheese fondue.
There are lots of baked rice options, and the flavors were pretty good overall.
