Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen Umi to Akari/ Hewitt Resort
Located in Yunokawa Onsen-one of Hokkaido’s three major hot spring resorts-this seaside retreat offers a luxurious stay overlooking the Tsugaru Strait. The highlight is the rooftop infinity open-air bath, where the horizon blends seamlessly with the sea and sky. At night, guests can enjoy the enchanting view of the moon and the glowing lights of fishing boats that inspired the hotel’s name, “Umi to Akari” (Sea and Light). Watching the moonlight shimmer on the water while sipping local Hakodate sake is an unforgettable experience.
The overall vibe is minimalist Japanese style, but every detail is spot on. You really get that "luxurious but not flashy" feeling here.

The TV Asahi headquarters is the beloved broadcast home of “Doraemon” and other classic, famous anime. Located inside Roppongi Hills, some of the studio grounds are even open to browse and explore.
Visiting the TV Asahi Atrium is a great chance to experience how modern media operates. It's also a window into Japanese media culture.

Sagano Romantic train
The Sagano Kanko Railway's trolley trains operate on a revived part of the former San'in Main Line, which was closed down. Classical Art Deco style coaches coupled to a diesel locomotive travel 7.3 km one way from Torokko Saga Station, adjacent to JR Saga-Arashiyama Station, to Torokko Kameoka Station, taking about 25 minutes.
You get to enjoy the outdoor scenery the whole way. The staff even sing and interact with passengers, which makes for a fantastic atmosphere. Totally worth checking out!
