They say this is the oldest of Japan's 12 original castles.
The black and white castle with the red bridge in front is such a striking contrast—really moving! 👍

Yumura Tokiwa Hotel
Yumura Onsen, the “shingen no motoyu” located in Kofu City, Yamanashi is one of Japan’s leading hot springs towns for over 1,200 years.
This is a really nice hotel.
I heard that members of the royal family have stayed here before, and the whole place has a classy, elegant vibe. It’s even been used as a venue for shogi tournaments.
For breakfast, they serve hoto, a local Yamanashi specialty, which really adds a regional touch to your trip.
The Japanese garden is beautiful, especially with the autumn leaves—it’s so charming.
When we checked in, there happened to be a concert in the lobby. Apparently, they hold this event every Saturday night. -
