Ueno Park has about 40 types and over 1,000 cherry blossom trees. From late March to early April, it's a famous spot for cherry blossom viewing in Tokyo. The Somei Yoshino cherry trees by Shinobazu Pond are especially stunning. I come here every year!

Ashikaga Fireworks Display
The "Ashikaga Fireworks Display " is annually held on August at the Watarase riverside area. The long-established event started in 1903 and has continued to be held for more than 120 years. There will be about 20,000 fireworks to be launched. It boasts the largest display in Kanto area, and is called the "Summer Festival of 500,000", since it attracts more than 500,000 visitors every year.
The Ashikaga Fireworks Display has a really long history. Every year, it attracts around 500,000 people! It's easy to get to, too. I definitely recommend checking it out 😀

Lake Suwa Festival Lake Fireworks Festival
The Lake Suwa Festival Lake Fireworks Festival is held at Lake Suwa, the sprawling waters that span the center of Suwa City in Nagano Prefecture. The event runs every year on August 15th since it started in 1949 for the Noryou Suwako Fireworks Festival.
The Suwa Lake Fireworks Festival is incredible! They launch about 40,000 fireworks, which is the most in Japan. The fireworks are super impressive and absolutely gorgeous.

Mitama Festival
This is a festival held at Yasukuni Shrine every year from July 13th to 16th. Following an ancient Japanese tradition, it started in the Showa 22 (1947) after the end of World War II, and has a history of over 75 years. Now, it is a beloved feature of summer in Tokyo, attracting over 100,000 visitors each year.
During the Mitama Festival, about 10,000 large lanterns are hung along the approach to Yasukuni Shrine, and there are another 20,000 smaller lanterns inside. The whole shrine is surrounded by beautiful lanterns. There are also gorgeous mikoshi and a lively atmosphere that really makes the festival feel special. 👍
