Tenjin Chikagai was highly recommended online as a must-visit and must-shop spot in Kyushu, so I planned ahead before coming. It really is super convenient and fun to explore! Since it's connected to five major department stores and is a major transportation hub in Fukuoka, you don't have to go anywhere else—just shop here before transferring. It saves a lot of time!

Universal Studios Japan
Universal Studios Japan, nicknamed “USJ”, is a large-scale theme park with entertainment for everyone, both children and adults alike. The park is separated into different areas, each with a different theme from popular titles across the world.
The little shops in the mall near the park are super convenient.
You can grab food, drinks, and pick up souvenirs all in one place.
After you’re done at Universal, it’s fun to walk around there again.
The overall vibe is nice, and it’s a pretty good spot to sit down, relax, and have a meal. -

Izu Teddy Bear Museum
A museum showcasing teddy bears collected from around the world. Meet rare and adorable bears, including “Teddy Girl,” listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most expensive teddy bear. Popular highlights include the Teddy Bear Factory, where you can make a one-of-a-kind plush, and the long-running special exhibition “My Neighbor Totoro Plush Exhibition Part 3.”
The museum has a bit of a vintage vibe and a lot of character. It doesn’t feel overly commercial.

Ueno Zoo
This is Japan’s first ever zoo, founded in 1882. Despite its urban setting in the heart of Tokyo, it still keeps a lush, natural environment as well as about 3,000 different animal friends of some 300 different species.
Overall, this is a classic Tokyo spot. Even if you're not a huge animal lover, it's definitely worth visiting at least once.
