Sanuki Specialty Honetsukidori Tanakaya
Keep a pin on Honetsukidori Tanakaya for your next Kagawa trip plans. Located near the approach to the famous Kotohira Shrine, the restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with private rooms and traditional tatami seating, making it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy your meal. There’s also plenty of room if planning for a larger group of even up to 50 people.
The smell when it hit the table should be illegal. Super strong garlic and pepper aroma, with the skin fried to a golden, slightly crispy finish. The meat inside is still fairly juicy, and from the very first bite you can tell it’s on the rich, heavy-flavor side.

Michi no Eki Yoshiumi Iki-Iki Kan
At the foot of the Kurushima Strait Bridge, Michi no Eki Yoshiumi Iki-Iki Kan is an expansive roadside rest spot for travelers. Visitors can enjoy a view overlooking the Kurushima Strait while eating fresh seafood dishes or barbequing on the coals of a personal grill.
Whenever I visit a tourist spot, I always stop by a Michi-no-Eki because you can count on finding local food and specialties. Here, you get to enjoy fresh seafood while taking in the beautiful ocean view. The best part is picking your favorite seafood and grilling it yourself—such a treat!

Dogo Onsen Annex Asuka-no-Yu bathhouse
This hot spring facility opened in 2017 as a base for introducing a new hot spring culture. Under the theme of "Ancient Dogo," the building incorporates architectural styles from the Asuka Period, which is appropriate for Dogo Onsen, Japan's oldest hot spring.
The main building didn't really catch our interest, so we ended up trying the annex bathhouse. It's a bit pricier, but once inside, we found the space comfortable, with fewer guests and even a semi-open-air hot spring area. The whole environment was super relaxing. Highly recommended!
