The space is small but very well designed. It's really fun to see the sea creatures up close. Perfect for families with kids—such a warm and enjoyable experience!

Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse Hakodate History Plaza
Built in 1909 (Meiji 42), the Kanemori warehouses played a major role in the development of shipping in Hakodate Port. Hakodate History Plaza is a valuable facility that preserves the building’s original character, from its beautiful English-bond red brick exterior to the cypress pillars supporting the high ceilings.
There are lots of small shops, dessert places, and Hokkaido-style souvenir stores, plus cafés and restaurants where you can take your time wandering around.
When you get tired of walking, it feels great to head to the seaside and enjoy the breeze.
Overall, it’s the kind of place you don’t really plan for, but somehow end up spending a long time exploring. -
Sounkyo Onsen
Located within Daisetsuzan National Park, this is one of Hokkaido’s premier hot spring destinations, blessed with dramatic gorge scenery and an abundant supply of hot spring water. Sitting at an elevation of about 670 meters, the area captivates visitors with natural beauty that changes with the seasons. In autumn, the mountains are painted in vivid reds and yellows, while winter transforms the landscape into a vast, shimmering world of snow-each season offering a completely different experience.
The whole town is surrounded by mountains, and the air is really clean and peaceful.
When you’re in the outdoor hot spring, you can see the mountain scenery and it feels like you’re wrapped in nature.
In winter, the snowy views are gorgeous, like being in a fairy tale.
They also have events like the Ice Waterfall Festival, with lights at night that make it really romantic.
Overall, it’s the kind of place where you can slow down and truly relax 〜 -
Sashimiya（Kanazawa City）
Located within Omicho Market, known as “Kanazawa’s Kitchen”, Sashimiya is a former fishmonger-turned-izakaya, serving the freshest seafood directly sourced every morning from Yamaka Suisan, a seafood vendor inside the market. With a wide selection of seasonal fish and premium seafood, this spot is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts.
This place is super popular, and their main draw is the super fresh kaisendon and all kinds of sashimi. The portions are generous, and the fish slices are thick—so satisfying! Prices are pretty reasonable too. The vibe inside is cozy and simple, just a spot to really focus on enjoying great food. If you love sashimi or seafood bowls, you definitely have to check this place out. Especially in Kanazawa, where the seafood is incredibly fresh and sweet!
