Kirishima Shrine (Kirishima Jingū), located in Kagoshima Prefecture, has a very long history with its foundation in the 6th century. It is the largest shrine in the southern Kyushu region and has become a destination for many people on their trips. Not only that but there are many tourist attractions scattered near the Kirishima Shrine. This article will introduce four sightseeing spots that we recommend you enjoy together with Kirishima Shrine.

1. Kirishima Hot Spring Village, Kirishima Hot Spring Market

Kirishima Hot Spring Village (Kirishima Onsenkyo) is the collective name for nine hot spring resorts in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. There are numerous lodging facilities where you can enjoy hot springs, and some facilities let you use the hot springs without staying overnight. We recommend you take a hot spring bath to heal your body and mind after a long day of sightseeing. The commercial facility "Kirishima Hot Spring Market (Kirishima Onsen Ichiba)" is located in the center of Kirishima Hot Spring Village. The market is lined with restaurants and souvenir shops, as well as footbaths where you can enjoy a hot spring casually.
