A Winter Tradition with a City Enveloped in Beautiful Champagne Gold Light
The winter tradition of “Marunouchi Illumination” is held annually in the Marunouchi area near Tokyo Station. Marunouchi Naka-Dori is a street packed with brand-name shops that spans about 1.2 kilometers, and over 220 trees lining the street are elegantly illuminated with 1.2 million LED bulbs in Marunouchi’s original shade of “champagne gold.”
A “gate of light” will be set up in the Yurakucho area (in front of the Kokusai Building and Shin-Kokusai Building), and other illuminations will also be held on Otemachi Naka-Dori.
The electricity used to power the illuminations is green energy, generated through natural sources such as solar and wind power. Marunouchi Illumination has been rated as an environmentally friendly illumination.
The elegant light of the original color “champagne gold” is stunning.
Enjoy taking in the illuminations while doing some winter shopping.
An environmentally friendly illumination that utilizes natural energy.
In 2020, a new facility called “Marunouchi Terrace” will be opening at the same time as the illumination.
In 2020, the illuminations will be lit to express our gratitude to the medical workers and long-term care workers who are working through the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as with feelings of support for everyone.
