On this trip to Okinawa, I specifically made time to visit Senagajima Sunset Park to watch the sunset. I originally just wanted to find somewhere to slow down, but when I actually arrived, it was even more beautiful than I had imagined. The evening breeze by the ocean was very pleasant. Standing by the shore, I could feel the sea breeze gently blowing, away from the noise of the city, and the whole atmosphere was very relaxed. Looking out at the endless ocean view really makes you slow down without even realizing it.
What I looked forward to most was the moment when the sun slowly began to set. The sky gradually changed from blue to orange, then slowly became tinged with pink and red. The sunlight sparkled on the surface of the ocean, and the whole scene was very romantic. I found a comfortable place to sit and did nothing but quietly watch the sunset, and it felt like this trip had gained one more special memory.
Another interesting feature of Senagajima is that you can watch planes take off and land. Occasionally, a plane flies across the sky. Watching planes take off or land up close, with the sunset, ocean, and sky in the background, really feels like an Okinawa travel scene.
If you're traveling to Okinawa, I highly recommend visiting Senagajima in the evening. You can browse the nearby shops and get something to eat before heading to the shore to wait for the sunset. Rather than rushing through an itinerary, I prefer this kind of relaxing time, feeling the sea breeze and watching the sun slowly set. It's truly comforting and also perfect for taking photos as keepsakes!
