Since its founding in 1953, A''LINE Ferry of A''LINE has operated routes connecting mainland Japan, the Amami Islands, and Okinawa.

Its passenger Kagoshima Route runs from Kagoshima to Okinawa Main Island via Amami Oshima, Tokunoshima, Okinoerabu Island, and Yoron Island, making it ideal for an island-hopping ferry journey. Another draw unique to this route is the chance to travel while experiencing the different scenery and cultures of each port of call. It also operates the Kikai Route (Amami Kaiun), connecting Kagoshima, Kikai, and Hiratono.

Two ships operate on both the Kagoshima Route and the Kikai Route (Amami Kaiun). On board, you’ll find spacious passenger rooms, dining facilities, observation spaces, and free Wi-Fi service, creating a comfortable setting even on long-distance voyages. Vehicles can also be loaded, making travel between remote islands and long-distance trips more flexible.
