Supervised by :  Chimoto

Chimoto is a ryokan in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, founded in 1937. Meals are served in traditional Japanese-style rooms, with ayu sweetfish in summer and duck, Omi beef, and eel dishes in winter. Seasonal local ingredients are used, and menu items are adjusted based on ingredient availability.

For duck dishes, you can choose from suki nabe, a hot pot set meal, a gozen meal, a kaiseki meal with hot pot, or a premium option with sashimi. The duck suki nabe comes with sashimi served with funanoko, homemade rice cakes, and dessert. The duck used is wild blue-necked mallard, cooked with local vegetables, meatballs with Japanese pepper, and Hidaka kelp broth. Other dishes include A5 Omi beef sukiyaki, shabu-shabu, steak, ayu odori-yaki, and eel rice bowls with a secret sauce. Another feature is that only Omi Koshihikari rice is used.

Chimoto currently operates only for dining and delivery, and lodging is temporarily unavailable. The interior has Japanese-style rooms and tatami seating, making it suitable for both solo diners and families. Plating is adjusted according to the season and the dish, so you can enjoy the food with your eyes as well as your taste buds.
