Japanese Cuisine Hirai is a long-established restaurant founded in 1873. For more than 100 years, it has continued to serve wholesome Mino cuisine full of rich flavor. It has received awards from the French gourmet guidebook Gault & Millau. The restaurant has been recognized in Japan and abroad for the high quality of its cuisine, chef, and atmosphere.

Its signature specialty is seasonal crab cuisine. You can enjoy the natural flavor of carefully selected fresh crab. The restaurant mainly serves course meals, and its Hida beef shabu-shabu, available year-round, is also popular. Seasonal dishes such as natural sweetfish dishes (July to October) are also available. The menu also includes a wide variety of options such as the fugu course (November to April). Every dish highlights the natural flavor of the ingredients and showcases delicate craftsmanship.

All rooms in the restaurant are private. Both tatami rooms and table seating are available, accommodating from 2 up to 80 guests. The surrounding area is filled with natural scenery, including the Nagara River and Mount Kinka, with views of Gifu Castle. Spots such as Inaba Shrine are also nearby.
