Marukou Ramen Center Kiyama Branch

Carrying on the flavor of a famous Kurume ramen shop! A long-established bowl with an unchanged taste.

Last update :

Founded in 1965, Marukou Ramen Center Kiyama Branch is a long-established ramen restaurant carrying on the flavors of Koyoken, a famous Kurume ramen shop. It has continued serving the same unchanged taste for years and remains loved by locals and visitors alike.

Its signature soup is made with 100% pork bones, rich in flavor yet light on the palate. By cooking it all at once in an ultra-high-temperature, high-pressure boiler, the shop achieves a clean finish without any unwanted flavors. The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles that pair well with the soup. Skilled craftsmen at its dedicated noodle factory thoroughly control quality, adjusting the blend based on the weather and humidity. The signature menu item is the “Special Ramen.” The addition of a raw egg gives it a thick yet mellow texture, while still delivering a solid salty kick. Beyond ramen, the menu also offers plenty of variety, including gyoza, fried rice, and champon.

The interior stretches out to both the left and right of the kitchen. Seating mainly consists of tables for four. Lines sometimes form even before opening. It is a spot where you can enjoy a bowl that carries on the tradition of Kurume ramen.
