Marked by its iconic 100-meter triple-helix tower, this multi-purpose cultural complex surrounds a grassy plaza and brings together three facilities: Concert Hall ATM, ACM Theater, and the Contemporary Art Gallery. It serves as an open hub for artistic activities that reach out from Mito to the world.

Concert Hall ATM is a music hall with outstanding acoustics and a strong sense of presence, designed in an arena style that brings the audience and stage together as one. It hosts concerts by its three resident ensembles and internationally active performers, as well as programs introducing local musicians.

At ACM Theater, where the shape of the stage and seating can be changed, there is no front curtain and the stage is set low, allowing audiences to experience even the actors’ subtle movements and expressions up close. A wide variety of productions are staged here, from masterpieces old and new from Japan and abroad to musicals and traditional performing arts.

The Contemporary Art Gallery consists of nine simple white exhibition rooms, each with different dimensions and lighting conditions. Its special exhibitions cover a wide range of genres, including contemporary art, architecture, design, and fashion, and it also hosts many workshops.

In addition to its wide range of arts programs, the tower observation room and the tower and cascade, beautifully illuminated at night, are also highly recommended.
