Surrounded by abundant nature on Kagoshima Prefecture's Osumi Peninsula, Ogawa Falls measures approximately 46 meters high and 60 meters wide, captivating visitors with its mystical scenery.

Follow the approximately 1,200-meter one-way walking trail along the stream to reach Ogawa Falls and its breathtaking natural beauty. The sight that unfolds before you is stunning. Clear underground water cascades over the rugged rock face, leaving it glistening. The main attraction is the striking emerald-green plunge pool. The mystical atmosphere makes it feel like a truly secluded retreat.

Walking to the sounds of the clear stream, birdsong, and rustling trees offers a relaxing break from everyday life. Along the way are seasonal sights such as a viewpoint where you can look up at Takimi Bridge, which spans the valley approximately 80 meters overhead, and the Bamboo Path, lined with a picturesque bamboo grove.

There are also several inviting rest areas, including the Streamside, where spring water seeping from the rock face provides cool, natural air conditioning. Those concerned about their stamina can take an approximately 600-meter short course that turns back at this rest area.

*The flow at Ogawa Falls has increased due to renovation work at a Kyushu Electric Power plant. This is expected to continue from February 7, 2025, through October 2028.
