Hyuga Keishuen Garden

This Japanese garden brings together recreations of scenic spots from across Miyazaki Prefecture. Located in Hinata Miyazaki Prefectural Comprehensive Sports Park, Hyuga Keishuen Garden consists of two areas—the Japanese Garden and Fudoki Hill—and is open for visitors to explore freely.

The Japanese Garden was created over five years beginning in fiscal 1976 and covers approximately 13,000 square meters. Throughout the garden are landscapes modeled after scenic spots in Miyazaki Prefecture, including Nanatsubae on the Nichinan Coast and Manai Falls in Takachiho Gorge. Visitors can stroll among landscapes representing each location through combinations of ponds, waterfalls, stone arrangements, and plantings.

Fudoki Hill features recreations such as burial mounds inspired by the Saitobaru Kofun Group and Sai no Kawara on the Ebino Plateau. Its landscapes reflect not only Miyazaki's natural scenery but also the region's history. The grounds also include an iris garden with approximately 8,000 plants, and the Japanese irises reach their peak in early summer. There is also a traditional tea room, making this a garden where visitors can explore scenic spots and history from across Miyazaki in one place.
