The most popular winter activity is the snowmobile tour, known here now for some 35 years. The tour takes you through mountain forests and includes a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the Sea of Japan. The course covers a total distance of 90 km, making it the longest in the country. If lucky enough you may even catch rarer wildlife like foxes, Ezo deer, or the adorable long-tailed tit (Shima-Enaga), ensuring an unforgettable Hokkaido adventure. Expect thorough guidance from experienced instructors and the utmost in safety thanks to regular checks and maintenance. As an added bonus, there’s even a snow park in the winter with unlimited rides on snow rafts and banana boats opens for even more snowy fun.
In the green season, activities include exhilarating four-wheeler rides through dense forests and rivers, survival games in natural settings, and fishing ponds. The site also supports solo and day camping, complete with BBQs throughout the year—outdoors in summer and in a mountain lodge in winter. A must-try is the Shiawase Genghis Khan, a dish with a unique sauce so delicious it’s sure to go down in the books.

Official FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions have been vetted and answered directly by each listing.
Q
Is a license necessary? What do I need for snowmobiling?
No license is required. You will only need four basic items: ski wear, gloves, boots, and a helmet. Only cameras, tissues, and drinks are allowed to be brought onto the course to preserve the pristine natural environment.
Q
Can women, the elderly, or individuals with disabilities participate?
As long as you are in good health, you can participate. Physical coordination or prior driving experience is not necessary. There is practice time on a flat area before heading to the mountain course, ensuring anyone can easily learn to drive. If there are no impairments to the body, limbs, or vision, you can operate a snowmobile. Additionally, tours are available for two or three riders with a guide for those who prefer or require assistance. (Please contact us for details.)
Q
Are there bears? Can we see wildlife?
There are no bears in winter. However, in summer, the course runs through areas where bears are often seen, highlighting how deep into the mountains the experience goes. With some luck, you might see animals like long-tailed tits, Ezo deer, foxes, rabbits, Ezo squirrels, weasels, raccoon dogs, and black woodpeckers.
Q
Are there risks of getting lost or avalanches? Is the snowmobile tour ever canceled?
There have been no instances of getting lost or avalanches in the past 32 years. We conduct safety checks three times a day and use snow groomers at night to maintain the course, ensuring top safety standards. Guides monitor weather conditions, lead guests, and can adjust routes to lower areas during sudden bad weather. Real-time updates from other guides help manage course closures if needed. Tours are generally held even during snowstorms, heavy snow, or rain if the course is deemed safe, but the final decision is up to the customer. If extreme conditions are expected, we may suggest postponing the tour.
Q
Can I ride a snowmobile without a reservation?
Yes, if there is availability, you can join without a reservation. However, there is a possibility of being fully booked, leading to long waiting times. It’s recommended to inquire via the online form beforehand.
Q
Is the snow quality good? When is the best time to visit?
Snow quality varies based on seasonal conditions, daily snowfall, temperature, sunlight, and the number of visitors passing through. January typically offers the best conditions for an enjoyable experience.
