Sensoji Temple is probably the oldest and most famous temple in Tokyo. The path from Kaminarimon to the temple is lined with countless shops, and you can really feel the traditional culture and lively atmosphere of the area. I've been several times, and it never feels like enough time. Besides praying, I especially love the festive vibe here.

Every time I visit Tokyo, I come to this temple to pray for blessings.

It's not just Sensoji Temple—the whole Asakusa area has that classic downtown vibe. The rickshaw pullers are a highlight, too. They're all super fit and energetic, and many of them are really funny!

It's not just the shops on Nakamise Street at Sensoji that are fun to explore—the little stores in the surrounding alleys are also really unique and interesting.

After passing through Kaminarimon, you'll find Nakamise Shopping Street, which still keeps its Edo-era vibe. I recommend trying Kagetsudo's melon bread and Kimuraya's ningyo-yaki—they're both really unique.

It's so crowded that you can barely get in, and almost everyone there is a foreign tourist. It feels like it's lost the original downtown Tokyo atmosphere.

I saw a lot of Japanese people waving the incense smoke over themselves. If they're sick, it's supposed to help them get better, and if they're healthy, it brings good luck.

Inside the main hall, they enshrine Kannon Bodhisattva. Unlike in Taiwan, here you buy incense sticks for 100 yen each. Outside Sensoji, there are rickshaw drivers who can give you a tour around Asakusa. It's really unique and a lot of fun.

The incense here is always burning strong, and locals say it's really effective. These days, there are actually more foreign tourists than locals.

Got up super early and headed to Sensoji Temple. I managed to take lots of photos before the shops opened and the crowds poured in, so I could avoid all the people in my shots.
