My first time in Arashiyama, Kyoto. There were so many international tourists, and they were also very kind about helping us take photos. The lush bamboo grove covered the entire sky and was truly spectacular, making me feel very relaxed.

I stayed overnight in Arashiyama and happened to catch the nighttime illumination event, so I walked into the bamboo grove after dark.

The bamboo path, which is usually packed with people, was much quieter at night. Lights illuminated the bamboo along the way. When the wind blew through the grove, the bamboo kept creaking as the stalks bumped into each other. Together with the sound of light rain hitting my umbrella, it felt like a symphony of nature.

There were fewer people, but the overall atmosphere was mysterious. It’s a nighttime walk that takes a little courage.

Because this place is so popular, it usually gets a bit crowded with tourists. If you want to capture the pure, tranquil beauty of the bamboo grove like in the photos, with no one around, the best trick is to point your camera upward or come around 7 or 8 in the morning to enjoy a peaceful walk and the fresh scent of the bamboo.

The natural scenery here is absolutely beautiful. Being here, you can truly feel the amazing power of nature.

I definitely recommend stopping by the “Rilakkuma Store” and taking a photo with Rilakkuma!

The whole path honestly isn’t that long. If you take your time walking and snapping photos, you can wrap it up in about half an hour.

Walking along this path surrounded by bamboo feels so peaceful and special!

Walking toward Tenryuji, the path is filled with people heading to Togetsukyo Bridge. Passing through this dense bamboo grove is really impressive.

The bamboo forest is so lush. I really miss this place!

The bamboo on both sides is so dense that only a narrow strip of sky is visible. You can spot rickshaws here, and some people even arrive by taxi.

Just follow the crowd after leaving the train station and you'll end up at Kyoto's famous bamboo grove trail.
