There were way too many tour groups. You have to line up and organize before entering. The front of Kinkaku-ji is packed with visitors, so it's really hard to take photos.

Kinkaku-ji is so beautiful, it almost feels unreal. If they let visitors go inside, all the gold leaf would probably get worn off.

You can only walk around the lake and take photos from a distance. It's a bit disappointing that you can't go inside to visit.

Kinkaku-ji is famous both in Japan and abroad. Even from the tour bus in the parking lot, you can see that most of the visitors are from overseas. It's definitely a must-visit spot when you're in Kyoto.

I've only ever seen it in photos before,
but I finally got to visit in person.

The admission ticket looks just like a lucky charm! Our tour guide even told us to take it home and put it by our bed for good luck. 🤣
