I recommend buying some scallop candy as a souvenir. If you browse farther from the entrance, you can sometimes find better prices and take home both the flavors of Hokkaido and fond memories!

The squid-fishing experience is one of the most famous activities at Hakodate Morning Market, but it felt a little cruel to me, so I decided not to try it. I just had some melon instead, and it was incredibly sweet and delicious! Next time, I’d like to have one of the rice dishes sold at the market for breakfast.
