Kyoto city KYOCERA Museum of Art

It started as Japan's second largest public art museum, Tairei Kinen Kyoto Art Museum, that commemorated then-emperor's enthronement, then the name was changed to Kyoto City Art Museum. In spring of 2020 after a renovation, it was reopened as Kyoto City Kyocera Art Museum.

If you love historic architecture or photography, the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art is a must-add to your itinerary. The overall atmosphere is quiet and elegant, with a strong retro charm. Every angle feels like a scene from a movie.

Toyota Municipal Museum of Art

An art museum on a small hill overlooking the city center of Toyota, Aichi. Opened in 1995, it presents a wide-ranging collection centered on art from the late 19th century to the present, along with design and crafts.

My biggest takeaway after visiting was how “comfortable” it felt.

The design isn’t overly flashy. Instead, it shows its beauty through proportions, materials, light and shadow, and reflections on the water. Every corner feels like a movie scene, and the view changes every few steps. You can really feel the thoughtful design throughout.

The dolphin-watching tour in Amakusa was arranged really smoothly. Not long after we headed out, we saw a whole pod of dolphins swimming right alongside the boat. They were even closer than I expected, and everyone was excited the whole time. The experience was totally worth it.

The overall experience with Meisheng Travel’s Kyushu trip was also pretty good. The itinerary balanced sightseeing and free time well, so it never felt like we were constantly rushing from place to place. We also got to try quite a few local specialties, and the ramen and yakiniku were especially memorable.

Nikko Toshogu

Nikko Toshogu is a shrine dedicated to the Edo shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa. It is the most visited spot within the World Heritage Site “Shrines and Temples of Nikko,” and here you can see 55 exceptional buildings, including 8 that have been designated as national treasures and 34 that have been designated as Important Cultural Properties.

The level of detail is honestly incredible. The carvings are super intricate and gorgeous, and it feels very different from the usual simple style of most shrines. I couldn't stop looking around.

Asakusa Nakamise Shopping Street (Main Approach to Asakusa Temple)

Located on the approach to Asakusa Temple, this shopping street consists of food and souvenir shops lining the approximately 250m stone-paved path from Asakusa Temple's main gate, the Kaminarimon Gate, to the "Treasure House Gate". Known as "Nakamise", about 90 stores are built across the approach, bustling daily with visitors to Asakusa Temple and tourists from both Japan and abroad.

Sensoji Temple

This iconic destination in Asakusa sees as many as 30 million visitors each year. It stands as a well-loved mainstay in Tokyo, all while hosting a number of annual traditions like the first temple visit at New Years, Setsubun and more across the year.

It’s really easy to get to. You’re basically there as soon as you come out of the subway, so it’s easy to fit into your itinerary. Besides visiting the temple, the surrounding area is also really fun to explore, so it’s worth setting aside a little extra time.

Located right in front of Kaminarimon, this tourist information center offers information about Asakusa and Taito Ward under the concept of "Find, Show, Support."

You can go up and see Kaminarimon for free, which is honestly such a nice perk. The view is pretty good too.
The building itself has a lot of character. The wood-toned design feels really warm and comfortable, and it matches the Asakusa atmosphere outside perfectly.

SHIBUYA SKY

An observation facility offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the Tokyo cityscape from a height of approximately 230 meters above the ground. Located on the 14th, 45th, 46th and rooftop of Shibuya Scramble Square, the tallest building in the Shibuya area, there are three zones: "SKY GATE," "SKY STAGE" and "SKY GALLERY.

The overall design feels really refined. It’s not just about the view—the layout and the space itself are very comfortable too.
It feels more modern than places like Tokyo Tower, so if you love urban night views, you’ll probably like this place even more.

Ikuta Shrine

With a history of about 1,800 years, “Ikuta Shrine” is affectionately called “Ikuta-san, the matchmaker” by locals. As a popular power spot, it’s known for bringing good luck in marriage, love, work and health, and has even seen visits from athletes and artists in recent years.

If it’s your first time in Kobe, this is a nice place to stop by. It has a strong sense of history, which creates a really striking contrast with the shopping area around it.
If you’re already shopping nearby, it’s worth popping in for a quick visit. Nice to check out without having to go out of your way or wait in a long line.
