It’s really easy to get to. You’re basically there as soon as you come out of the subway, so it’s easy to fit into your itinerary. Besides visiting the temple, the surrounding area is also really fun to explore, so it’s worth setting aside a little extra time.

Kita no Megumi Asahikawa Tabe Marche
One of northern Hokkaido's leading food festivals, held annually for three days in September, including Respect for the Aged Day, in central Asahikawa, Hokkaido. A wide variety of restaurants and producers from Asahikawa, other parts of northern Hokkaido, and partner cities gather at venues stretching from the plaza in front of JR Asahikawa Station to Heiwa Shopping Street. Visitors can sample locally produced agricultural and livestock products, seafood, regional specialties, sweets, and more.
Compared with Taiwan's night markets, this one isn't necessarily bigger, but it has a strong Japanese feel. Each stall has its own unique character, which makes it feel quite fresh for tourists.

Ashikaga Flower Park
At Ashikaga Flower Park, you can enjoy the sight of all kinds of seasonal flowers, which adorn the park according to eight themes: "Early Spring", "The Spring Flower Festival", "A Tale of the Wisteria", "Rainbow Garden", "Blue and White Garden", "The Flower Faeries Who Float By the Water", "Purple Garden", and "The Garden of Illuminated Flowers". The park is a popular location, enjoying not only local visitors, but those from abroad.
It was my first visit, and I discovered there were more varieties of flowers here than I had imagined, which was a really pleasant surprise. Everywhere I walked, there were flowers in different colors and shapes. Besides the famous wisteria, the other flowers were also well worth seeing. The whole park was so colorful, and it put me in a great mood.

Kyoto city KYOCERA Museum of Art
It started as Japan's second largest public art museum, Tairei Kinen Kyoto Art Museum, that commemorated then-emperor's enthronement, then the name was changed to Kyoto City Art Museum. In spring of 2020 after a renovation, it was reopened as Kyoto City Kyocera Art Museum.
If you love historic architecture or photography, the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art is a must-add to your itinerary. The overall atmosphere is quiet and elegant, with a strong retro charm. Every angle feels like a scene from a movie.
