Motsudokoro Tengoku Horumon
A Hokkaido izakaya serving whole-cattle wagyu in a wide variety of cuts and dishes.
A Wagyu restaurant located just a 3 minute walk from Susukino Station in Sapporo. By purchasing whole cattle of Toshu Wagyu, a premium brand of Japanese Black beef raised in Ikeda, Hokkaido, the restaurant is able to serve exceptionally fresh meat dishes, including rare cuts, at reasonable prices.
The restaurant is also committed to using Hokkaido ingredients beyond beef, including rice and seafood. Its most popular dish is Atsuatsu Tengoku, made with fresh Toshu Wagyu liver and offal. True to its name, it is cooked piping hot in a stone pot right at the table, adding a lively touch to the meal. Other excellent choices include Tengoku Motsunabe, featuring a deeply flavorful house soy sauce broth prepared over more than 12 hours; beef and seafood served as sashimi or grilled on an iron plate; and clay pot rice made with specially cultivated rice sourced directly from a partner farm and ingredients that pair perfectly with it. With an extensive drink selection and opening hours from 3:00 p.m., the restaurant is popular for both daytime drinks and evening dining.
The stylish interior offers counter and table seating as well as fully private rooms. The entire restaurant can also be reserved, making it suitable for parties of two and larger groups alike.
