A really comfortable, beachside-style shopping mall that’s great for wandering around.
The place is spacious and new, and the layout is easy to follow. You don’t get that cramped, crowded feeling at all, and the AC is strong, which is a huge plus in the summer.
There’s a pretty wide selection of brands, and plenty of food options too, from casual bites to sit-down restaurants. It’s really convenient to find a place to sit down and eat when you get tired of walking.
The best part is that it’s right by the sea. On a nice day you can walk outside, look at the ocean, feel the breeze, and your mood instantly lifts. It’s also a great spot for photos.

Shizukuishi Ski Resort
Shizukuishi Ski Resort is located in Shizukuishi Town, Iwate Prefecture. In 1993, it served as the venue for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, establishing its reputation as a world-class ski resort. Its signature attraction is the downhill course, with a maximum length of 2,648 meters and varied terrain. A total of 16 courses are available, ensuring fun for beginners, advanced skiers, and families alike.
It feels really comfortable here—not too noisy or overly commercialized. More of a laid-back vibe.
The runs are wide and the views are great, so skiing doesn’t feel stressful. Beginners won’t get too intimidated, and experienced skiers can just cruise and enjoy the scenery.
On a clear day, the view from up top is seriously beautiful. Being able to take in the scenery while you ski is a big plus.
It’s not insanely crowded either. The lift lines are usually reasonable—nothing that wears you out.
And the Shizukuishi Prince Hotel next door is super convenient. After skiing, heading straight back to rest and soak in the onsen feels amazing. -
Kurogi no Ofuji (The Great Wisteria of Kurogi)
Located within the grounds of Susanoo Shrine in Kurogi, Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture, this giant wisteria tree is said to be over 600 years old. It is believed to have been planted in 1395 (Oei 2) during the Muromachi period by Prince Yoshinari, the Later Seisei Shogun. Despite surviving wars and devastating fires, the tree has continued to thrive and is now renowned nationwide as a symbol of longevity. In 1928 (Showa 3), it was designated a National Natural Monument.
When the flowers are in full bloom, it gets really crowded.
On weekends it’s basically wall-to-wall people, but seeing it in person still feels totally worth it.
The wisteria has a light, gentle fragrance that isn’t overwhelming, so it’s very pleasant to walk around.
At night, when everything is lit up, it feels even more romantic and the atmosphere is amazing. -
Mifuneyama Rakuen
Mifuneyama is the symbol of Takeo Town. With its cliff in the background, Nabeshima Domain’s 28th Takeo lord, Nabeshima Shigeyoshi spent three years building a garden. This garden with a path encircling a big pond was completed in 1845. It can contain 10 Tokyo domes, boasting a vast 123-acre ground.
There aren't many buses, so I walked slowly from Takeo Onsen. The scenery along the way was beautiful.
