Located in the mountains of Minoh, Osaka Prefecture, Katsuo-ji Temple is definitely a great hidden spot for escaping the summer heat and praying for good fortune! As soon as you ride deep into the mountains and arrive at the temple gate, the cool mountain breeze immediately sweeps away the summer heat.
Katsuo-ji Temple has long been known as the "Temple of Winning Luck," and many people come here specifically to pray for success in exams, careers, competitions, or life's many challenges. The most striking and soothing sight when you enter the grounds is the thousands upon thousands of red prayer daruma of all sizes, known as "winning daruma," packed into every corner of the temple. Whether tucked into cracks in stone walls, at the roots of trees, or beside the temple approach, these round red figures are everywhere you look. Seeing them lined up in rows is both spectacular and a little cute.
Especially in summer, although there are no cherry blossoms or maple leaves, the temple grounds are surrounded by lush greenery and forest. Walking along the stone steps and beside the pond, you can not only breathe in the refreshing forest air but also see the cute daruma against the verdant mountain scenery, creating a unique summer view. There is also a beautiful Kannon pond and garden on the grounds, making for a very leisurely and relaxing stroll.
If you're visiting Osaka and want to plan a spiritually uplifting and soothing half-day trip outside the city, I highly recommend adding Katsuo-ji Temple in summer to your itinerary. Here, you can not only write down your wish and take home your own winning daruma, but also enjoy a perfectly cool and sacred time in the lush green mountains!

It is known as "Kokusai-dori (International street)," based on the concept of "a people-friendly town and a town that is fun to walk through.
整個人立刻會被撲面而來的海島度假熱情與熱鬧的音樂節奏給徹底包圍！這條全長大約一點六公里的筆直大道，在戰後以極快的速度從廢墟中繁榮重生，因此擁有了超響亮的「奇蹟的一哩路」稱號。街道兩側種滿了隨風搖曳的高聳椰子樹，密密麻麻開滿了色彩繽紛的伴手禮店、琉球料理餐廳、居酒屋與雜貨小舖。門口到處擺著張大嘴巴笑瞇瞇的石獅子雕像，店員熱情吆喝，空氣裡飄著現炸沖繩開口笑甜甜圈的油香與烤阿古豬的肉香，整條街從早到晚永遠都是人潮滿滿、活力四射！

I was completely charmed by the thousands of wild sika deer! Spanning more than 600 hectares, this vast green space completely overturns the usual idea of an urban park. The deer here are regarded as sacred messengers of the gods and have lived in harmony with the ancient shrines and temples for generations. As soon as you hold up some freshly bought deer crackers, deer from all around immediately trot over with their bright, expressive eyes. They even repeatedly bow as if politely asking for a snack, making the interaction incredibly fun!
The park perfectly brings together the World Heritage sites of Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine with the primeval forest. Walking beneath towering ancient trees, accompanied by the distant ringing of temple bells and the crisp sound of the deer’s footsteps, the peaceful, laid-back atmosphere unique to this ancient capital is completely soothing for the body, mind, and soul.
