Use the Fujikyu Express Discount Pass to explore Lake Kawaguchi. Shimoyoshida Station is especially worth visiting and is also where the biggest crowds are. As soon as you get off the train 🚞, if the weather is good, you can get a shot of Mt. Fuji and the train in the same frame. Walk toward the Shimoyoshida shopping street—even the public restrooms along the road are stylish.

A multi-use shopping complex directly connected to Mt. Fuji Station on the Fujikyuko Line, with grand views of Mt. Fuji. Across seven floors (B1-6F), you’ll find everything from the latest fashion and interior goods to daily essentials and food, with plenty of items to make everyday life more fun and colorful. On the 1st floor, there’s a great selection of Yamanashi specialties-local sweets, regional products, Yamanashi wine, and local sake-perfect for souvenir shopping.

Fuji-Q Highland
Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park featuring many world-class thrill rides and character theme parks.
A Thomas the Tank Engine-themed amusement park 🎠 with Japan's longest roller coaster 🎢. It's the best Mt. Fuji 🗻 spot for a day out with the kids, and you can even get a shot of Mt. Fuji 🗻 and the roller coaster in the same frame.
It's well worth taking the train all the way toward Mt. Fuji Station to enjoy the views of Mt. Fuji along the way. -

Heian Jingu Shrine
Established in 1895 to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the transfer of the capital to Heian-kyo, this shrine is relatively new. The buildings emulate the central government office, the "Chodo-in," where significant ceremonies took place during the Heian period. Once you step into the precincts, adorned with these vermilion structures, you feel as though you've time-traveled back to the Heian era.
As soon as I got off the bus 🚌, I was drawn to the massive 24.4-meter-tall vermilion torii gate, an iconic landmark in Kyoto’s Okazaki area 🤩
The surrounding area is also great for an artsy stroll, with the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, Tsutaya Books, Nanzenji Temple, and a Blue Bottle Coffee in a machiya townhouse that’s worth visiting. -
