Bamboo Forest at Wakayama Farm
Drive about 1.5 hours north from Tokyo. In Utsunomiya-just 50 minutes from Tokyo Station by shinkansen-you’ll find a farm with a vast bamboo grove. Its lush greenery and quiet calm make it feel like you’ve stepped into a story. This one-of-a-kind, breathtaking bamboo forest is also frequently used as a filming location for movies and commercials. Cosplay photo shoots are welcome too, so if you’re interested, apply in advance via the reservation form.

Echigo-Yuzawa Onsen District
A hot spring area in Echigo-Yuzawa, popular not only as a winter ski resort but also as a place to enjoy outdoor activities like trekking and camping in summer. Lodgings, restaurants, and souvenir shops line the prefectural road stretching out in front of JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station, forming an onsen town. The springs are said to date back to the late Heian period, and the area is also famous as the model for Yasunari Kawabata’s classic novel Snow Country.
It’s not just nature and hot springs—it also has a really strong traditional cultural vibe. There are old-school shops along the streets, little stores selling handmade crafts, and you might even get a chance to join a local festival or event.
