Open for nearly 80 years as a botanical park, this spot on a gentle hill offers natural landscapes woven by plants throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy seasonal views including spring cherry blossoms, peonies, hydrangeas, lotuses, autumn wildflowers, and foliage. The park exudes an authentic Japanese ambiance throughout, with over 700 cherry trees of 60 varieties from Kyushu, making it one of the most significant collections in the region.

From the summit plaza at an elevation of about 111 meters, you’ll find a view overlooking the Suo Sea. On clear days, you can see as far out as the Kunisaki Peninsula, the Ube area of Yamaguchi Prefecture, and even Kitakyushu Airport.

The Japanese-style building at the entrance plaza was constructed in the 1930s as a residence for a lumber merchant. It features the then-popular "Japanese-Western eclectic" style, showcasing beautiful designs throughout. It's now used as a free rest area, event and lecture venue, and gallery space, also worth visiting.
