Sansuien is an accommodation facility located in Takajo-machi, Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture. It stands on the former site of a secondary residence of the Yamauchi family, lords of the Tosa Domain. Its expansive grounds of Approx. 3,000 tsubo feature a Japanese garden and natural hot spring baths from its own source, creating an atmosphere where history and nature are in harmony. Despite being in central Kochi City, it offers a quiet and relaxing stay.

The property has a total of 127 guest rooms, including Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms, and special rooms. Their views of the clear Kagami River and the greenery of Mt. Hitsuzan are part of the appeal. At the hot spring building, Yudono Suisai-kaku, guests can enjoy sodium chloride high-temperature spring water. Meals mainly feature Japanese kaiseki cuisine made with seasonal flavors of Tosa, including seared bonito and sawachi cuisine. Dishes made with fresh local seafood and vegetables are also popular with guests visiting from outside the prefecture.

The property also has a gallery displaying materials related to Kazutoyo Yamauchi and his wife. In the garden are a Japanese hackberry tree estimated to be 600 years old and a Japanese black pine commemorating Emperor Showa's visit, among other highlights. You can fully enjoy the beautiful scenery steeped in historic charm. Major spots such as Kochi Castle and Hirome Market are also within walking distance, making it a convenient base for sightseeing.
