One of Komatsu's signature confections, this sweet is made by long-established Japanese confectionery Matsubaya in Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture. Tsukiyomi Yamaji Chestnut Mushi Yokan is a signature product from the shop, which was founded in 1852. It is wrapped in bamboo leaves and steamed using a traditional method, giving it a subtle bamboo aroma. The yokan contains kudzu starch, which gives it a distinctive, pleasantly chewy texture unlike ordinary yokan.

It is also generously packed with large chestnuts, so they appear in every slice.
