If you’re visiting the Chofu area of Tokyo, it’s worth planning Jindaiji Temple and Jindai Botanical Gardens for the same day! Jindaiji is an ancient temple in Tokyo with a strong sense of history. The grounds are lush with greenery, making it especially peaceful to stroll around. After visiting the temple, you can explore the nearby old streets and try the area’s famous Jindaiji soba. There are also quite a few shops selling wagashi and souvenirs along the street. It’s also an easy walk from Jindai Botanical Gardens, making it perfect for a half-day stroll where you can enjoy the relaxed temple-town atmosphere that is rarely found in central Tokyo.

Omokagebashi Bridge
Omokagebashi is a bridge spanning the Kanda River, a first-class river in Tokyo, connecting Toshima Ward and Shinjuku Ward. It is also the name of a tram stop on the Toden Arakawa Line, affectionately known as "Tokyo Sakura Tram." In spring, it's a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing, attracting numerous visitors.
Omokagebashi Bridge is located along Tokyo's Kanda River and is a nice little spot for a walk around Waseda. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom along both sides of the river, and the sea of pink flowers reflected in the gently flowing water creates a very romantic atmosphere. When riding the Toden Arakawa Line, you can also get off at Omokagebashi Station and take a leisurely walk along the Kanda River, enjoying the streetscape where cherry blossoms and trams come together. Compared with Tokyo's popular cherry blossom viewing spots, this area feels more relaxed and local, making it perfect for an easy springtime stroll.

Bankaku Sohonpo, Osaka Ikaten
Bankaku Sohonpo is a confectionery manufacturer founded about 130 years ago, well known for a Senbei, a Japanese rice cracker using seafood. A technique and a spirit are handed down for generations while a stance searching for the best quality taste takes is not changeable. Buyers directly visit a producing area to negotiate to get selected ingredients and carry out through quality control using their own strict criteria, with which this sweets maker extremely pursues for making particular sweets.
Bankaku Sohonpo's Osaka Ikaten can be purchased in the basement food hall of Hanshin Umeda Department Store and makes a great souvenir. Each cracker is individually wrapped, so it's easy to carry and hand out to friends and family. The crackers are thin, crisp, and light, with a rich seafood aroma. You can taste the distinct squid flavor as soon as you take a bite. They're savory and so easy to snack on that you'll find yourself eating one after another. It's a very distinctive Osaka souvenir.

Along the way, you can see seasonal flowers such as cherry blossoms and roses, as well as pass through lively local neighborhoods like Oji, Otsuka, and Sugamo. There are also old-fashioned shopping streets, temples, and historic sites along the line. Riding this nostalgic tram and slowly taking in the scenery of Tokyo's traditional downtown neighborhoods feels like a little trip.
