Located at the northwestern foot of Kibi Nakayama, which is revered as the mountain of God, the main deity is Okibitsuhiko no Mikoto.
The main shrine, which is designated as a national treasure, and the worship hall are directly connected, and is the only architectural style in Japan, "Kibitsu-zukuri."
It was burnt down due to two fire incidents, but was rebuilt in 1425 during the time of Yoshimitsu Ashikaga.
It is the second largest shrine after Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto, and is a magnificent shrine that is more than twice as large as Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine.

The walkway with a total length of about 400 meters, extends from the main shrine and was built by making the best use of the natural terrain, is also a spectacular sight.
There are about 1500 hydrangea gardens on the mountain side of the walkway, and it is in full bloom from around the middle of June.
In addition, you can enjoy seasonal flowers such as the peony garden at the end of the walkway, azaleas, cherry blossoms and plum blossoms.

There are also some Shinto rituals and shrines related to the extermination of Ura by Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto.
Yaoki-iwa is a rock that Kibitsuhiko-no-Mikoto is said to have placed an arrow on during the battle with Ura.
There is a legendary "Yatate Shinto ritual", and the demon mask is housed in Ushitoraonsaki Shrine, where Ura's life is enshrined.
At the Gokakuden, which is said to have buried the neck of Ura, a mysterious "Narukama Shinto ritual" is performed, in which the sound from the cauldron is used for fortune-telling, and it appears in the story "Ugetsu Monogatari ".
