A French restaurant inside Hotel Riverge Akebono, set along the Asuwa River that runs through central Fukui City. With the concept of “Making Fukui delicious and elegant,” it serves French cuisine unique to Fukui, blessed with bounty from both the mountains and the sea. Leading the kitchen is Takazumi Matsuzuka, who honed his skills at Michelin-starred restaurants. A Fukui-born chef, he holds national certifications in Western cuisine, Japanese cuisine, and sushi, and was the runner-up in a national French cooking competition.

At the heart of each plate are Fukui’s seasonal ingredients. Dishes featuring snow crab, black abalone, Yoshikawa eggplant, and other local specialties appear with the seasons, while dessert includes the chef’s specialty, Gâteau Opera.

Meals are served as course menus only. For dinner, there is a full course by advance reservation as well as a same-day short course, while lunch offers both reserved and same-day courses. The refined interior features Echizen washi paper, with a 36-seat main dining area and private rooms for small groups.
