Toba Bay Cruise and Dolphin Island

This attraction combines a roughly 50-minute cruise offering beautiful views of Toba Bay from the water with recreation on an outlying island.

Departing from Toba Marine Terminal or the pier in front of Mikimoto Pearl Island and Toba Aquarium, the leisurely cruise passes Mitsushima, one of Toba's most iconic scenic spots, and offers views of a seascape dotted with islands of all sizes. From the water, the city's historic stone walls and distinctive port-town scenery overlap to create a sense of travel different from anything experienced on land.

Dolphin Island, a stop along the route, is a lush outlying island surrounded by the sea in every direction. Admission is included with the sightseeing cruise at no extra charge, offering opportunities to meet dolphins and otters. In addition to watching the dolphins jump and play with balls, visitors can try programs based on the work of animal keepers, including feeding the dolphins and conducting health checks, for a closer look at the animals.

A lookout reached by chairlift offers sweeping panoramic views of Toba Bay and its islands, with the Chita and Atsumi peninsulas visible in the distance. The white wake of sightseeing boats against the sparkling blue sea creates a photogenic view. There is also a photo spot featuring a pink dolphin said to bring good luck, making it ideal for a vacation snapshot.

Two distinct sightseeing boats operate the cruise: Ryugu-jo, with its eye-catching, ornate decorations, and the graceful, floral-themed Flower Mermaid. Each has its own distinctive design, setting the mood for an extraordinary voyage from the moment you step aboard.
