This is a 300 meter-long triple-arched wooden bridge over Lake Fujimi. The bridge is known as "Nagaiki-no-Hashi" (bridge of long life) and is popular for its longevity blessing. The bridge is also renowned for "Tsugaru no Sakasa Fuji" (Mt. Iwaki reflected on the lake surface), which can only be seen on clear, windless days and was used in a JR East TV advertisement. Near the bridge are Crane Nature Park and Fujimi Lake Park, which are also good places for a stroll.
Towada Shrine, located on the shore of Lake Fujimi, is dedicated to Princess Shirakami, who committed suicide by entering the water after losing her tragic love. Princess Shirakami fell in love with the lord of Shimizu Castle, but the lord married another woman. In her grief, the princess threw herself into a large pond, and her grudge transformed into a white dragon that continued to torment the lord. Later, the villagers built this shrine, fearing that it was haunted by Princess Shirakami. The shrine is now a sacred place for the fulfillment of love, dedicated to the goddess of pure love.
