AKAMA Fukutei
A Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy fugu cuisine while looking out at the sea.
AKAMA Fukutei is a Japanese restaurant in Amidaijicho, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It opened in 2018 as the second branch of the fugu restaurant Shunrakukan. Right in front of the restaurant is Akama Jingu, a famous power spot in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The signature dish is the Heike Course. This menu features torafugu caught in the waters of Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. You can enjoy torafugu prepared in a variety of ways, including sashimi, fried dishes, and hot pot. The Fuku Irodori Course, which lets you compare three kinds of fugu, is also very popular. In winter, a limited Ankō Course made with natural
anglerfish from Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, which boasts the highest catch volume in Japan, is also available. Another specialty is the luxurious Kaiseki Lunch, a lunch-only menu that includes everything from appetizers to dessert.
The restaurant has three floors. The first floor offers table seating with large windows overlooking the Kanmon Strait. The second floor has private tatami rooms, and the third floor has a banquet hall that can accommodate up to 30 guests.
