Ise Geku Sando Ise Shinsen
A natural hot spring retreat along the approach to the Outer Shrine, with open-air baths in every guest room.
This hot spring ryokan stands along the approach to the Outer Shrine of Ise Jingu. Just about a 1-minute walk from JR and Kintetsu Iseshi Station and within walking distance of the Outer Shrine, it is a popular base for visiting Ise Jingu. It is also known as the only ryokan near Ise Jingu with a natural hot spring.
Its 45 guest rooms come in three types: Japanese-Western rooms, Western-style rooms, and suites. While preserving the character of traditional Japanese ryokan culture, every room offers modern comforts, including Western-style beds. Each also has an open-air bath with a Shigaraki ware tub. The large communal bathing area features indoor and open-air baths as well as a sauna, offering ample opportunity to unwind in the hot spring waters.
Meals are served at the on-site Japanese restaurant Isegin. Seasonal dishes showcase the bounty of the sea and mountains of Ise-Shima, including spiny lobster, abalone, and Matsusaka beef. Nearby are several shops produced by Ise Shinsen, including Ise Department Store for Ise souvenirs and Ise Utsuwa-ichi, a wholesale market for ceramics from renowned kilns, making them worth visiting as well.
